As Congress works to pass health care reform, Mark Blum, Executive Director of America’s Agenda, shares his observations about lessons from state efforts to reform the health care system that are applicable to federal efforts to achieve health care reform this year. Mark shared America’s Agenda’s experience in states, including Vermont and West Virginia, in which diverse organizations such as business, labor, health care providers and policymakers worked together on issues of consensus around reducing health care costs and improving quality of care to pass health care reform.

Mark’s comments were made at recent briefing hosted by the Partnership to Fight Chronic Disease regarding examples of state health care reform efforts that focused on reducing health care costs and the burden of chronic disease.  Click here for more information about Mark’s comments and to see a video of the event.
